A day at sea is usually a day to relax and recover and that is exactly what Day 9 was for us. Besides the casino the big event was the swimsuit stuffing competition, a silly contest in the pool in which people compete to see who can capture ping-pong balls and stuff them in their swimsuits. The winner had 12.
We had breakfast and lunch before the swimsuit stuffing, but also spent some time in the casino. We went back later. Marlene did pretty well but I lost another $100. Down $285.
We did one trivia competition – 1980s movies – and did terribly. Not even close to winning. I must have slept through Back to the Future and National Lampoon’s Vacation.
It was formal attire for dinner and we dined with Juan and Laurie. Lobster and grilled shrimp and baked Alaska for dessert. All very good.
We tried to go to the after-dinner show but once again walked out. The sound guy was ruining the performance again. He is at the top of my complaint list for this cruise.
